Marathon Seafood Festival
An annual celebration of Keys seafood culture with fresh local catch, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and family-friendly activities at Marathon Community Park. One of the most anticipated events on the Middle Keys calendar.
Marathon Swim Classic
An annual open-water swimming event that draws participants from across the state. Swimmers of all skill levels take on a scenic course through the clear waters off Marathon's coast in a fun, community-focused competition.
Lobster Mini Season
The unofficial kickoff to summer in the Keys. A two-day spiny lobster season draws divers and snorkelers to the reef for one of the most exciting harvests of the year. Marathon is a prime departure point for mini season adventures.
Holiday Boat Parades
December celebrations on the water in Marathon Harbor. Boats decorated with festive lights parade through the canals and harbor while crowds gather at waterfront venues to watch the holiday tradition.
Fishing Tournaments
Year-round competitive fishing events hosted by Marathon's marinas and civic organizations. Offshore, reef, and backcountry tournaments bring anglers from across the country to compete in Middle Keys waters.
Community Farmers Markets
Weekly markets offering fresh local produce, handmade crafts, and tropical goods. Marathon's farmers markets are a great way to experience everyday Keys life and support local growers and artisans.
Marathon Art Guild Events
Local art shows and exhibitions hosted by the Marathon Art Guild. These events showcase the work of Keys artists and offer a window into the vibrant creative community in the Middle Keys.
Pigeon Key Foundation Events
Historic island programs on Pigeon Key, the small island under the Seven Mile Bridge. The Pigeon Key Foundation hosts educational tours, sunset events, and cultural programs that celebrate the history of the Florida Keys and the Overseas Railroad.
