Big Pine Key is one of my favorite communities to recommend to full-time residents. It has a rural, Old Florida feel with beautiful natural areas, Key deer, and Looe Key reef offshore. Prices are lower, and the pace of life is exactly what most people imagine when they think of the Keys.
